Build Your Own HayWagon:by Link Moser
One essential piece of equipment needed for a haunted hayride, is the trailer or wagon, upon
which the patrons ride through the attraction. In this article, Link Moser of Haunted Halloween
Hayrides explains how to build your own dual-axle hay wagon, from junkyard parts...
Tree Trimming Time: by Jim Kadel
Arguably the most obnoxious Christmas decoration of '97 was the talking Christmas tree sold in
most department stores for around $30 dollars. Although you may not have given them a second
thought in December, the sound activation technology used in this product has great possibilities
for building animated faces for props. In this article, Jim Kadel of Haunt Master Products
walks us through the first part of the renovation, taking the thing apart, without ruining it!
Low Budget Electric Eye : by Allen Gilliam
All of us at some point in time have needed an automated way to activate a sound or light or
prop, just as the patron passes a particular spot in the attraction. Or to let security know
when someone is in an area that they should not be. A motion detector is the simplest way to do
this, but it is not very precise. A pressure mat is a little more accurate, as long as moisture is
not a concern and you have a way to cover it. The perfect solution, if you can afford it, is some
type of light beam with a sensor or "Electric Eye." Off the shelf "Electric Eye" systems are
expensive, so why not build your own?...
