13 Stories Haunted House, Kennesaw, GA
October 21st, 2009
After a quick call to Joe Manzo at 13 Stories, I had just enough time to run up to see 13 Stories Haunted House before it closed for the evening. Luckily, Joe left the searchlight on for me and I made it just in time.
13 Stories Haunted House is haunt that several people mentioned to me at my previous stops. The haunt is connected with several rumors that may be urban legends or partially true and you won’t know unless you visit. 13 Stories Haunted House has a second attraction that you can walk through first to get warmed up before the main event. This year it was titled, “Bunker 13″ and is a military installation themed haunt where you need to dodge the infected types to get out. Plenty of dark spaces in this place with actors who seem to really enjoy their work. The group I was with was scared throughout the haunt.
We then went up to the 13 Stories Haunted House where we had to sign a waiver before entering. Some of the group wanted to bail right then but were talked back into going by their friends. The haunt has good looking scenes and a similar group of enthusiastic actors that kept the scare level up throughout the haunt. The group I was with had a blast getting scared and laughing at each other. By the end, most of the group was running to get out as fast as they could.
My thanks to Joe for keeping things open for me and for his hospitality. He also gave me a lead on another haunt he worked on this year, House on Horror Hill which I visited the following night thanks to him. I hope you have a great season.
