My second visit of the night was to Columbia Phobia Haunted House in Columbia, South Carolina. It was a more intense haunt with a different twist for the second attraction at the event.

Columbia Phobia Haunted House in Columbia, SC is actually two different haunted houses. The first is Phobia which takes visitors through a house from the 1950’s where evil lurks and has made the family that lives there into bad people. The second haunt is called the Mirror’s Edge where you enter the same house some 50 years later to see what the effects are and how the house has changed through time.

The haunts were actor driven and featured some intense scenes. The actors did a solid job by being dramatic without overacting and the makeup had just enough blood without being over the top. The first house featured scenes of domestic violence and then eventually led into a dark maze. The same house, 50 years later was even more twisted and featured plenty of gore and scary scenes before leading you back into the dark maze.

I like the haunted house and thought the idea of sending you through the same haunt 50 years later was an interesting twist for the second haunt that showed some creativity. The actors and makeup made it enjoyable for me but I also tend to like more intense, bloodier stuff so I guess I am kind of biased.
