I visited Mansion of Terror Haunted House on Monday and enjoyed the haunts and their focus on providing on frightening time.

Mansion of Terror Haunted House is located in a strip mall in Austin within site of one of my favorite places to eat, Taco Cabana so I immediately thought this was a brilliant location. I got to the ticket booth and asked for David Neff who handles marketing and PR for the haunt and he gave me a quick behind the scenes tour.

There are two haunts at Mansion of Terror. The first one is Morgan Asylum which is part Asylum, part circus and total fun. The second haunt is Blood Frenzy 2 which is a more intense, gorier show that is just as scary as the first. The producers really emphasize that the haunts are built to produce frightening entertainment first and foremost and have designed the scenes, and lighting to provide the actors a backdrop to scare the customers.

The actors were very good and I enjoyed how they played outside in the queue line and parking lot chasing customers around and scaring up more customers. The crowd had a great time and had high praise for the Haunt when they exited.

David, thanks for the hospitality and your time. Have a great season.
