Zombie Manor Haunted House, Arlington, TX
October 31st, 2009
Tonight’s first haunted house was Zombie Manor Haunted House which is another young haunted house that has gotten off to a strong start and has worked hard to provide interesting scenes and good acting.
Zombie Manor Haunted House is located in a light industrial park area. They did a nice job of claiming one end of the parking lot to create a spot for customers to queue. I met up with the owner, Dean Jarnig who gave me an overview of the property and the haunt. They also have a nice looking facade to disguise the front of the building. As you may have guessed, the event is Zombie themed and they carry that aesthetic throughout the property. Inside the building is an additional queue area, ticket booth and movie screen where they show their own promotional videos and those of their sponsors. Its a small area, but its all themed out and gets customers in the mood.
I picked out a group went through with them. The haunt has some nice detail to it and Dean and his team have done a good job of lighting it just enough to see the detail but still keep it dark enough to scare. The makeup and costumes were also very good and the actors were very enthusiastic and ready to scare.
The haunt also had a nice bridge that wobbled and even had shock wires on the handrail that gave you a slight shock when you grabbed it which was unexpected and fun.
I enjoyed Zombie Manor quite a bit and hope Dean and his team continue to grow the show. I think they have managed the balance between actors, scenery and props very well and give the customer a great show. I Know there are only a few nights left, but I hope they are good ones for Dean. Thanks for your hospitality and I look forward to seeing you again.
