Land of Illusion is the First Stop on The Grand Tour

We had the chance to visit Land of Illusion on September 11, 2009 this year and had a blast. Based in Middletown, Ohio this isn’t just one Haunted House but actually four! The four different Haunted Attractions are:

Check out this crazy car that Erebus Haunted House uses to promote their event and generate some buzz. That is one strange looking car!
They drove the car in the worlds largest car show, Woodward Dream Cruise in mid August. According to Ed Terebus, it took 4 hours to drive 7 miles! However it gave them a lot of exposure. “Thousands of people took our picture,” says Ed. (read more)

Hangman’s Haunted House Chooses to Thrill the World

Fort Worth, TX – Hangman’s House of Horrors joins with others across the globe on October 24, 2009 to perform the largest simultaneous dance around the world – Michael Jackson’s, “Thriller.” Hangman’s hopes to recruit over 500 volunteers to learn the Thrill the World version of “Thriller” and dress in their best “Zombie” at 7:30 p.m. that evening to dance. LEGACY OF BLOOD – Universal Orlando is devoting its entire Halloween Horror Nights event to bringing popular horror films to life, including Universal Pictures’ famed “Dracula.” The legendary dark prince will be featured in a haunted house, and will be more horrifying and intense than ever before. This year’s Halloween Horror Nights runs 23 select nights from September 25 to October 31.

I have found that getting the actors involved with helping in the costuming department (whether it be helping to distress items, organizing the costumes, or doing "field trips" to local thrift stores to find vintage items as accessories) gives them a sense of pride and makes them more likely to try to maintain it (they know how much hard work went into making it ready for season and they don't want to see it trashed).
I've put up signs in the makeup room, changing rooms, etc reminding people to please hang up all costuming. When that doesn't work, I'd point out whenever someone would just throw costumes on the floor or in a ball in the changing room.
