After two nights in Louisiana, it was time to move on to Texas and I started with Houston first. There are several good haunts in Houston and I started with Nightmare on the Bayou. (read more)

My last haunted house visit in New Orleans was the Chamber of Horrors Haunted House which you can’t help but notice when you drive by it thanks to the great looking facade. (read more)

Haunt Costumers

September 2nd, 2010

I have found that getting the actors involved with helping in the costuming department (whether it be helping to distress items, organizing the costumes, or doing "field trips" to local thrift stores to find vintage items as accessories) gives them a sense of pride and makes them more likely to try to maintain it (they know how much hard work went into making it ready for season and they don't want to see it trashed).

I've put up signs in the makeup room, changing rooms, etc reminding people to please hang up all costuming.  When that doesn't work, I'd point out whenever someone would just throw costumes on the floor or in a ball in the changing room.
